The Nepali Congress has again called a meeting of its central committee.
According to the party’s acting chief secretary, Krishna Prasad Dulal, the central committee will meet on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
"A meeting of the Nepali Congress central committee is scheduled to be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the party’s central office, BP Smriti Bhawan, BP Nagar, Lalitpur. As per instructions, office-bearers and members of the central committee, and provincial presidents are requested to attend the meeting," states a notice issued by Dulal on Monday.
The previous Nepali Congress central committee meeting concluded on Sunday. That meeting reviewed the election held on March 5 and discussed the resignation tendered by President Gagan Thapa over the electoral defeat. Thapa's resignation was subsequently rejected.
Following the rejection of Thapa's resignation, the party has called a central committee meeting again.
