The Ministry of Home Affairs has stated that all preparations for the House of Representatives member election have been completed.
Following a virtual meeting on Zoom with the chief district officers (CDOs) of all 77 districts at the ministry on Wednesday morning, the ministry confirmed that election security and all other administrative tasks have been completed.
The virtual meeting, chaired by Home Secretary Raj Kumar Shrestha and attended by senior ministry officials along with CDOs from across the country, reviewed election preparations and security arrangements in all districts.
Rama Acharya, co-spokesperson for the ministry, said that the meeting lasted nearly three hours and focused discussions on election preparations, security arrangements, and related topics.
According to Acharya, all CDOs reported during the meeting that all election preparations in their districts are complete and the security situation is normal.
The meeting discussed election preparations in the districts, the current situation, and coordination required from the center. Participants reviewed the peace and security situation, precautions to be taken on election day, and security sensitivities, reaching an understanding to formulate future strategies.
Home Secretary Shrestha directed the CDOs to ensure that election security remains robust and effective.
CDOs of all districts informed the meeting that all staff, security personnel, and election materials have reached the polling stations.
