Police have arrested 142 individuals across the country on charges of engaging in various activities aimed at disrupting the upcoming election scheduled for March 5.
According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Abi Narayan Kafle, central spokesperson for Nepal Police, 76 of those arrested remain in police custody. The other 66 individuals have already been released.
On Monday alone, nine people were apprehended from various locations.
DIG Kafle said that further investigations are ongoing against those currently in custody.
