A four-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car in Rautahat.
According to DSP Bishnu Pradip Basyal of the District Police Office, Rautahat, four-year-old Alpha Khatun was hit by a car at 2:30 Thursday afternoon while she was playing in Mathiya, Ishnath Municipality-4.
According to him, after the car with registration number Ba 15 Cha 4244 hit her, the girl was taken to Gaur City Hospital in the same vehicle. DSP Basyal stated that the driver fled from the hospital after the critically injured girl passed away.
Police stated that the vehicle was being used for the election campaign of a Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate. Sticks used for mounting flags were found in the car, and RSP stickers were also found pasted on the vehicle. It has not yet been disclosed whether the candidate was in the vehicle or not.
Police are currently searching for the driver.
