Deuba not to attend special general convention of Nepali Congress

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba will not attend the party’s special general convention, which began on Sunday.

Deuba’s personal secretary, Bhanu Deuba, said that the party president will not be participating in the special general convention.

"The secretariat's serious attention has been drawn to the false information being circulated on social media by certain individuals with the intent to spread confusion, claiming that Nepali Congress President and former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba would be visiting Bhrikuti Mandap today. We would like to clarify that there is no scheduled program for the party president to attend that event," he stated.

During the inaugural session of the special general convention on Sunday, speakers had urged Deuba to attend the closed session.
