Former home minister and Nepali Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak has said that he will appear before the inquiry commission formed to investigate the incidents of September 8 and 9 to give his statement.
Speaking with journalists at the Nepali Congress party headquarters in Sanepa on Thursday, Lekhak said, "The inquiry commission had summoned me, and I have decided to go," he said.
Lekhak said that although the commission had summoned him for Friday, he has informed them that he will appear on Monday instead.
"They had called me for tomorrow. I have told them that I will be there on Monday. I will go on that day," he said.
Lekhak was the home minister when the Gen Z movement took place.
During Wednesday's meeting of the Nepali Congress central working committee, a majority of leaders had advised Lekhak to appear before the commission and give his statement.
