The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), led by Rajendra Lingden, and the RPP-Nepal, led by Kamal Thapa, have reached an agreement to unify the two parties.
RPP spokesperson Mohan Shrestha informed Setopati that the two parties will sign the agreement on Wednesday itself.
"The two parties have agreed to move forward as one. The signing ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. today," he said.
In December 2021, Thapa was defeated by Lingden for the position of chairman during the RPP's seventh general convention. Shortly after his defeat, Thapa left the party and revived the RPP-Nepal.
Recently, both parties had formed dedicated dialogue committees to conduct the necessary groundwork for unification.
