Nepali Congress leader and former home minister Ramesh Lekhak has said that he will decide whether to give a statement to the inquiry commission formed to investigate the incidents of September 8 and 9 after he receives a formal letter from the commission.
The inquiry commission, chaired by former judge Gauri Bahadur Karki, has sent a letter summoning Lekhak, who was the home minister at the time, for a statement on Friday.
Speaking with Setopati on Tuesday afternoon, Lekhak clarified that he has not yet received the letter.
"I saw reports in the media mentioning that the commission has sent a letter summoning me for a statement, but I have not received the letter yet," Lekhak said. "Once I receive the letter, I will make a decision on the matter."
