NC leader Chandra Bhandari announces candidacy for party president

Nepali Congress leader Chandra Bhandari has announced his candidacy for party president.

Bhandari wrote on the social media platform Facebook that he will run for the post of president in the 15th general convention.

“My aspiration for the post of president in the 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress is clear, and my vision is equally defined. However, I am ready to move forward – from zero to one hundred – in whatever way is necessary, depending on where the interests of the country, the people, democracy, and the organization's needs stand. One must take steps respecting the suggestions of friends, the demands of the time, and the political market,” he said.

The NC’s 15th general convention is scheduled to take place in Kathmandu from January 10-12, 2026.
