Prime Minister Sushila Karki has directed government officials to finalize the agreement with the leaders of the Gen Z movement by Monday.
Discussions were held on Friday at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar regarding finalizing the draft of the upcoming agreement between the government and the protestors.
The Gen Z representatives had requested that the signing of the agreement be finalized quickly. Government officials said that they were in the process of studying the document submitted by the Gen Z representatives and finalizing it.
Subsequently, Prime Minister Karki gave directives to conclude the matter soon.
“This issue should not be prolonged any further. If it can be completed today, then finish it today. If not today, then work tomorrow, even though it’s Saturday. If needed, work throughout the day on Sunday as well, go through whatever needs to be reviewed. It must be finalized by Monday. We cannot wait many more days now. If there are any consequences for signing it, I will face them. My entire Cabinet will take responsibility for it. This is a political document. Administrative officials do not need to worry,” Karki said.
