CPN-UML Chairman and former prime minister KP Sharma Oli has said that President Ram Chandra Paudel must reinstate the dissolved House of Representatives.
Speaking at a gathering of intellectuals held in Kathmandu on Friday, Oli said that the president must reinstate the House since he dissolved it in an unconstitutional manner, News Agency Nepal reported.
“The one who dissolves it must restore it. Either the court restores it, or else the president who dissolved it must do so,” he said.
He added that one who can dissolve the House must also be able to restore it.
“If the president can dissolve the House unconstitutionally, how can he not reinstate it? He must reinstate it. The president who dissolved it must restore it. We must be able to write about this, speak about this, and stand on the side of truth,” he said.
Oli asserted that his party’s demand for the reinstatement of the House is truthful, adding that the Nepali people must support it.
“We must launch a movement with the demand for the immediate reinstatement of the dissolved House of Representatives. And we must intensify the demand for the reinstatement of the House of Representatives,” he said.
