A group of citizens has expressed serious concern over the incident in which the peaceful movement launched by Gen Z unexpectedly turned violent.
Stating that the movement, which began on September 8, resulted in significant loss of life and property due to the government's unnecessary use of force, members of the citizens' group have demanded the formation of an inquiry commission to punish the guilty.
They have paid tribute to the citizens and security personnel who lost their lives in the movement and urged the government to ensure free treatment for the injured.
Additionally, they have strongly condemned the infiltration of the movement by undesirable groups, which led to attacks, arson, and looting on public property, historical heritage sites, and private establishments.
Stating that the country is passing through a phase without a government following the prime minister's resignation, they have called upon the president to take initiative to fill the political vacuum.
They have emphasized the need to form an interim government through dialogue with Gen Z protestors, political parties, civil society, and the intellectual community, and appealed to all to respect the spirit of the constitution and democratic values.
