President Ram Chandra Paudel has stated that he is making every effort to give a way out to the country while staying within the constitutional framework.
In a press release issued on Thursday, President Paudel mentioned that he is engaged in deliberations and every possible effort to protect democracy and maintain peace and order in the country.
President Paudel issued the statement after demonstrations began in Kathmandu and other places, along with demands on social media for the president to address the nation.
He also urged citizens involved in the protests to be assured that efforts are underway to address their demands and find solutions to the problems as soon as possible.
President Paudel also appealed for cooperation in maintaining peace and order in the country.
Protests led by Gen Z youths took place on September 8 and 9. The protests have resulted in the deaths of 30 people, including protestors and police, so far.
Following the Gen Z protests, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned from his post. Discussions have been ongoing for the past few days regarding the formation of an interim government.
