The death toll in the Gen Z protest across the country has reached 18 after one more injured person died at KMC Hospital in Sinamangal, Kathmandu on Monday.
Sixteen of them have breathed their last in Kathmandu while two have been killed in Itahari.
The head of administration at KMC Hospital Narayan Prasad Dahal said that one more person died from a police gunshot wound sustained during the protest on Monday afternoon.
According to him, three people were seriously injured. Of those, two have died. "There were three people who came in with gunshot wounds. Of them, two have died," Dahal said. "34 injured persons have arrived here, and their treatment is ongoing. We are currently taking their details."
Seven persons have died at the Trauma Center, three at Everest Hospital, three at Civil Hospital, two at KMC, and one at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH).
Similarly, two persons died after police used force in Gen Z protest in Itahari, Sunsari.
