The death toll in the Gen Z protest in Kathmandu has reached 10 after two more persons breathed their last at the Trauma Center.
A doctor at the Trauma Center stated that six persons who were brought in for treatment have died after the latest fatalities. “Six have already died. We have not been able to ascertain how many are injured and the condition they are in,” the doctor added.
Meanwhile, one person has died at KMC Hospital in Sinamangal, Kathmandu.
According to the hospital's administration chief, Narayan Prasad Dahal, a person who was shot has died.
"Three critically injured persons were brought in. One of them has died. He was shot. The other two are undergoing surgery. Their condition is also extremely critical," Dahal told Setopati.
More than 30 injured have been taken to KMC Hospital for treatment.
Two persons have died at the Civil Hospital in Baneshwar. Similarly, one has died at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH).
This brings the total number of fatalities to 10.
The Trauma Center and Civil Hospital are full of injured people.
The protest, which started at 9 am on Monday, later turned violent. Police used tear gas and water cannons, and eventually, opened fire.
