The itinerary for Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s upcoming visit to China has been made public.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release on Wednesday, providing details about PM Oli’s China visit.
According to the press release, PM Oli is scheduled to visit China from August 30 to September 3 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
During the visit, PM Oli will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2025 and the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
PM Oli is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xi in Tianjin. On September 1, he will address the SCO Plus Summit in Tianjin. He will also meet some world leaders on the sidelines of the summit, according to the Foreign Ministry.
On September 2, the prime minister will meet Chinese Vice-president Han Zheng in Beijing.
While in Beijing, PM Oli will also participate in commemorative events marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War on September 3.
The prime minister will be accompanied by his spouse Radhika Shakya, Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Raghuji Panta, Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey, Nepali Congress Vice-president and lawmaker Purna Bahadur Khadka, Prime Minister’s Economic and Development Advisor Yubaraj Khatiwada, UML lawmaker Chhabilal Bishwakarma, and high-ranking government officials.
