Various political parties, except the ruling Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, are taking part in a meeting called by CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Wednesday to discuss the Political Party Self-evaluation Procedure.
The discussion is underway at the parliamentary party office of the Maoist Center in Singha Durbar.
Leaders from the Maoist Center, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janamat Party, and other parties are participating in the meeting.
The agenda of the meeting is to discuss the Political Party Self-evaluation Procedure, sent by the Election Commission to political parties for suggestions by August 7 (Thursday).
According to Dahal’s secretariat, leaders and parliamentary party leaders of all parties represented in Parliament, except the NC and UML, have been invited to the meeting.
The Election Commission has introduced the Political Party Self-evaluation Procedure and requested political parties and others to provide suggestions on it.
The procedure states that an evaluation committee will be established to operate and oversee the self-evaluation system of political parties.
