Three individuals have been recommended for appointment as Supreme Court justices.
The Judicial Council recommended three justices for the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
Those recommended for the vacant justice positions include Senior Advocate Meghraj Pokharel, Chief Judge of Janakpur High Court Shreekanta Paudel, and Chief Judge of Dipayal High Court Shanti Singh Thapa.
Pokharel is also the president of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
Paudel joined the judicial service on July 16, 1993, while Thapa joined the service on June 10, 2013.
Four judge positions were vacant in the Supreme Court, with one still remaining vacant.
Following the recommendation, the parliamentary hearing process for the nominees will proceed. If approved, they will be appointed as Supreme Court judges.
