The House of Representatives meeting has been postponed to Thursday.
The Federal Parliament Secretariat informed that the House meeting has been rescheduled for Thursday at 1 p.m.
The meeting was scheduled to start at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. However, it could not take place at the scheduled time and was postponed to 3:15 p.m. When the meeting still failed to proceed, it was deferred to Thursday.
Opposition parties have been obstructing Parliament, demanding an investigation into Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak's alleged involvement in the visit visa scam. The ruling parties, on the other hand, insist that the home minister should be allowed to speak in Parliament.
Earlier on Wednesday, Speaker Devraj Ghimire held discussions with the chief whips of the ruling and opposition parties to end the House obstruction. However, no agreement was reached as the chief whips stuck to their respective stances, according to the speaker’s secretariat.
