Former king Gyanendra Shah held a lunch meeting with royalist leaders on Thursday.
The former king Shah met with “Joint People's Movement Committee” coordinator Nawaraj Subedi, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden, RPP Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa, and Rastriya Shakti Nepal chief Keshar Bahadur Bista over lunch at the Soaltee Hotel in Kathmandu.
"The king had a lunch meeting with four leaders. Discussions took place for about an hour starting at 11 a.m. today," a source said.
The source did not disclose the details of the discussions between former king Shah and the leaders.
The “Joint People's Movement Committee” has announced a “People's Movement” from May 29. Their agenda includes the restoration of monarchy, reinstatement of Nepal as a Hindu nation, abolishment of federalism, among other demands.
The committee has been organizing events almost every day as part of preparations for the movement. As part of these efforts, royalist leaders held a lunch meeting with the former king on Thursday.
Earlier, the former king hosted a lunch meeting with seven RPP leaders at Nirmal Niwas on April 18. He also held discussions with various royalist leaders during his 12-day stay in Nagarkot from April 28 to May 9.
