CPN-UML is leading in Proportional Representation (PR) electoral system for the House of Representatives (HoR).
A total of 2,158,473 valid votes have been counted until now and the main opposition party has secured 555,832 (25.75%) votes, according to the Election Commission. Nepali Congress (NC) is second with 529,009 (24.51%) followed by Rastriya Swatantra Party led by Rabi Lamichhane at 286,216 (13.26%).
CPN (Maoist Center) is fourth with 257,049 (11.91%) votes followed by RPP at 154,231 (7.15%), Janata Samajwadi Party 66,688 (3.09%), Nepal Workers and Peasants Party 50,321 (2.37%), Janamat Party 45,641 (2.11%), Nagarik Unmukti Party 38,724 (1.79%), CPN-Unified Socialist 36,407 (1.69%), Loktantrik Samajwadi Party 31,886 (1.48%) and other smaller parties have secured 105,554 (4.89%) votes.
A total of 165 (HoR) members are elected through the First-Past-The-Post electoral system while 110 are elected through the PR electoral system.
The parties must secure at least three percent of PR votes to be eligible for seats in the PR electoral system. The 110 seats are shared proportionally among the parties that cross the three-percent threshold.
