CPN Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal seems to have given up the demand of resignation of Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli.
Dahal and fellow CPN Chairman Oli were positive to one another during the secretariat meeting on Saturday and they left for the Shital Niwas immediately after the secretariat meeting. CPN General Secretary Bishnu Paudel, Shankar Pokharel, Barsha Man Pun and Janardan Sharma have also accompanied the two chairmen to meet President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
"Both the chairmen presented as if they have reconciled to provide a breakthrough on the basis of consensus. But there has been no solid conclusion. Discussion continues," a secretariat member confided. "Both the chairmen have said they will bring an overall package."
Dahal, who has been demanding Oli's resignation earlier, did not raise the issue during the secretariat meeting on Saturday. He spoke in a way to hint he has budged from the stand. "Dahal did not utter directly but what I understand is he has given up the demand of PM's resignation."
