The Nepal Army has deployed its personnel at Ghantibagar of Darchula.
The NA unit has reached there as per the plan of constructing 87 kilometers of road in the northern part of Mahakali corridor. The Cabinet meeting on April 26 had handed over the responsibility of constructing the road to the NA.
Ghantibagar is around 30 kilometers below Chhangru where the government recently decided to put a border post of the Armed Police Force.
NA Spokesperson Bigyan Dev Pandey said the NA will also build 450 meters of two-meter wide horse trek in Ghantibagar area of Vyas rural municipality in Darchula. "NA has started work due to the tough geographical terrain even though the distance of the trek is short," Pandey stated. "Our team has reached there today for necessary arrangements and security for construction works."
A section plus force of NA has been deployed at Thi near Ghantibagar area at around 11 Thursday morning, according to the Directorate of Public Relation and Information. The NA plans to send another unit on Friday along with the necessary technical human resources for construction and equipment.
Around 1,200 persons of 182 households in Chhangru and Tinker village of Vyas-1 in Darchula have to use Indian road even to go to the district headquarter. The NA is going to construct horse trek due to problems for locals to commute owing to a large rock at Mauribhir in Vyas-2, and landslide in Ghantibagar.
The Nepalis in the area can commute using Nepali land only after completion of the horse trek in the section.
