Ruling CPN has decided to take Vice-chairman Bam Dev Gautam to the House of Representatives (HoR) to resolve the internal dispute.
The secretariat meeting at Baluwatar Saturday evening has decided to take Gautam to the HoR in appropriate time, according to CPN General Secretary Bishnu Paudel.
The next secretariat meeting will be held on Wednesday while the standing committee meeting will be held the following day. A majority of standing committee members had urged the two chairman to convene standing committee meeting to review the government's performance.
Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli self-criticised during the meeting while other senior leaders also self-criticised for escalating the intra-party dispute.
Oli who has been cornered by the alliance of another Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, senior leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal, and Vice-chairman Bam Dev Gautam Gautam against him on Wednesday had proposed that Gautam be made the PM after the end of coornavirus pandemic. "Let's make him PM by amending the Constitution to allow even a National Assembly member the PM or by vacating any constituency and getting him elected from there," Oli proposed after Dahal demanded Oli's resignation at the start of the secretariat meeting.
The latest decision to take Gautam to the HoR seems to have been taken to assure that he will be made PM in the future.
