CPN's Bidya Bhattarai has been elected to the House of Representatives from Kaski-2 on Sunday.
She has emerged victorious securing 24,394 votes. Khem Raj Paudel of Nepali Congress (NC) came second with 15,991 votes. Dharma Raj Gurung of Socialist Party Nepal got 1,922 votes, Ram Bahadur Bhandari of RPP 1,153, Rajani KC of Sajha Party 942 and Jamuna Sharma of Bibeksheel Nepali 77.
CPN-UML candidate and Bhattarai's late husband, Rabindra Adhikari, had won the constituency in the last general election.
