CPN candidate Bidya Bhattarai has guaranteed victory in the election for House of Representatives constituency of Kaski-2.
She has built a lead of over 8,500 votes with just 8,642 votes remaining to be counted. She has secured 20,771 votes with counting of 36,921 out of 45,563 completed. Khem Raj Paudel of Nepali Congress (NC) is second with 12,259 votes.
Counting of votes has been completed in wards 9, 11, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21 and 33 of Pokhara with counting remaining in wards 4, 7 and 8.
CPN-UML candidate and Bhattarai's late husband, Rabindra Adhikari, had won the constituency in the last general election.
