Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has accused Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli of failing to take initiative to resolve the border dispute with India and claimed that the latter is not nationalist.
Deuba, who claimed on Sunday that India issued the new map after consulting PM Oli, continued the diatribe against the PM and pointed that Oli is submissive to India.
"Oli is being submissive on Kalapani. Oli is, therefore, not a nationalist," Deuba said addressing an election rally for provincial assembly seat of Dang 3(B) on Monday. "He took votes in the name of nationalism and giving rights to the people of indigenous ethnicities but he has not given those rights," he added and claimed that NC has provided reservation for women, people of indigenous ethnicities, Tharus and other minorities.
"NC statute has 33 percent reservation for women. The post of deputy general secretary is reserved for women. Which other party has done so?" he asked.
He claimed that development works will gather pace if NC candidate were to win. "Where has Oli built roads? He has only gone for inauguration. The roads were built by us," he stressed.
He also slammed Chief Minister of Province 5 Shankar Pokharel for failing to choose the provincial capital. "Did the CM not win election from here promising to make Dang capital? Where is Dang the capital now?"
