ANNFSU leader sent to judicial custody in rape case

Joint-secretary of the free student's union of RR Campus Indrahang Rai has been sent to jail for the course of his rape case.

The District Government Attorney's Office has lodged a rape case against him demanding he be jailed for seven-10 years.

A bench of Justice Binod Kumar Pokharel at the Kathmandu District Court on Thursday sent Rai to jail for the course of trial after completion of bail hearing.

Rai was arrested in October end after complaint that he invited a girl to go for Bhaili during the Tihar festival and raped her. The Metropolitan Police Boudhha Circle said he took the girl to his relative's house in Makalbari and raped her.

Rai is central member of ANNFSU, the student wing of ruling CPN.
