Agriculture Minister Chakrapani Khanal has confirmed that he and Industry Minister Matrika Yadav will be sacked during the Cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli Wednesday.
Khanal and Yadav were not present during the Cabinet meeting at the PM's residence in Baluwatar Tuesday evening where Oli informed about the impending reshuffle. "I am in Bhairahawa," Khanal told Setopati adding that he has not talked much with PM Oli in recent times. "I had to finalize the budget for constituency."
He stated that Cabinet reshuffle is the PM's prerogative. "I have already said the information of my sacking can well be revealed through a press conference and the notice sent to me here," he added. "Party unification had not happened when the Cabinet was expanded. It has been confirmed Matrika Yadav and myself, who had joined from the then Maoists, will be sacked."
He said he has had differences with PM Oli. "We have had differences. I cannot stay with differences. I feel other ministers should not be made sacrificial goat due to us."
He, however, claimed that he has not talked with PM Oli and CPN Chairman KP Sharma Oli about his sacking.
