Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli has told his ministers that he will reshuffle Cabinet on Wednesday.
A minister told Setopati that PM Oli informed his ministers about the reshuffle during the Cabinet meeting at his residence in Baluwatar Tuesday evening but did not reveal the name of ministers who will be sacked and the new ones to be inducted.
Another source confided that PM Oli has instructed the ministers to not schedule any formal program for Wednesday as the new ministers will be sworn in Wednesday itself.
PM Oli has also called secretariat meeting of the ruling CPN for Wednesday morning to decide about Cabinet reshuffle. Oli, who is also CPN chairman, has already discussed Cabinet reshuffle with fellow party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
The government, meanwhile, will amend the Constitutional Council Act through an ordinance. The current act requires every council decision to be unanimous, and another meeting has to be called in lack of unanimity. A minister told Setopati that the act will be amended to ensure that decisions can be taken on the basis of majority.
