Nepalgunj chief of Nepal Tarun Dal, the youth wing of main opposition Nepali Congress (NC), who was arrested with a pistol has been sent to jail for the course of his court trial.
The Banke District Court on Monday ordered Sandip Jung Shah be sent to the prison, according to Spokesperson with Banke Police DSP Shiva Bahadur Singh. Singh said the three persons who were arrested along with Shah, however, have been released on bail of Rs 150,000 each.
The District Government Attorney's Office, Banke on Friday had lodged an arms and ammunition case in the court against Shah, Madhav Nepali, Pritam Thapa and Yam Bahadur Buda Magar demanding the four be jailed for five years.
The court ordered Shah be sent to jail after the bail hearing on the case ended on Monday.
Shah and the three persons were arrested from Namaste Village Resort at Ganapur of Janaki rural municipality 6 in Banke at eight October 31 night with an American pistol and bullets.
