The seven provincial chiefs have been sworn in on Tuesday.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered oath of office and secrecy to the septet, recommended by the Cabinet on Monday, at her office Tuesday morning.
President Bhandari had appointed Som Nath Adhikari Pyasi of Kaski as provincial chief of Province 1, Tilak Pariyar of Banke Province 2, Bishnu Prasai of Jhapa Province 3, Amik Sherchan of Chitwan Gandaki, Dharma Nath Yadav of Siraha Province 5, Govinda Kalauni of Dadeldhura Karnali, and Sharmila Tripathi of Chitwan Far West on recommendation of the government on Monday.
The secretariat meeting of ruling CPN earlier on Monday had picked the seven provincial chiefs.
The government had sacked all seven provincial chiefs on Sunday. The Cabinet meeting Sunday morning had recommended President Bhandari to sack the seven provincial chiefs. The President's Office in the evening stated that the septet has been sacked on the basis of that recommendation.
The provincial chiefs were appointed by the then Sher Bahadur Deuba government on January 17, 2018.
Govinda Subba was chief of Province 1, Ratneshwore Lal Kayastha Province 2, Anuradha Koirala Province 3, Baburam Kunwar Gandaki, Umakant Jha Province 5, Durga Keshar Khanal Karnali and Mohan Raj Malla Far West.
Five of the chiefs were appointed on recommendation of Nepali Congress (NC) and that of Province 2 and Province 5 on recommendation of Madhes-based parties Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJP) and the then Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSF-N) respectively.
