Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli has called an 'emergency' Cabinet meeting Sunday evening after convening a meeting earlier on the day.
"This is like extension of the morning meeting. It was likely to be called for tomorrow but has now been called for five in the evening," PM's press advisor Kundan Aryal told Setopati. "There are agendas requiring prompt decisions."
Dr Bhagawan Koirala was appointed chairman of the Nepal Medical Council by the Cabinet meeting held earlier on the day.
Koirala has served as director of the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital and that of Shahid Ganga Lal National Heart Center in the past.
Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli, who has been resting after undergoing dialysis at Grande Hospital on Wednesday and Thursday, chaired the meeting for around one and half hours, according to the minister.
