Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli will go to Grande Hospital Sunday for dialysis.
Oli, who underwent dialysis at the hospital on Wednesday and Thursday, will go to the hospital for third cycle of dialysis today, according to a Baluwatar source. The time for dialysis has yet to be decided.
Oli has called the Cabinet meeting at his official residence in Baluwatar for 11 Sunday morning.
The ruling CPN's secretariat meeting will also be convened today but the time for that has yet to be decided. The secretariat meeting on Saturday had decided to pick candidates for the upcoming by-election in Sunday's meeting.
Oli had briefed the party's secretariat on Saturday that he needs regular dialysis for kidney problems. Oli, who had convened the secretariat meeting at his official residence Saturday after being discharged from Grande Thursday evening, told the party leaders that a second transplant was the alterative for dialysis.
A secretariat member told Setopati that a decision about whether to opt for regular dialysis or go for a transplant will be taken once all the reports arrive. "PM said that dialysis was done twice at Grande after being admitted on Wednesday and it has to be done regularly now onward," the leader added.
Oli also told the party leaders that his health has been deteriorating recently.
PM Oli has gone to Singapore twice for treatment in the past few months. PM Oli underwent plasmapheresis at the National University Hospital seven times during his 15-day stay in Singapore after August 22
Plasmapheresis is a term used to refer to a broad range of procedures through which blood components are filtered outside the body. PM Oli's secretariat or doctors did not provide comprehensive details of his health and treatment in Singapore but it is likely that the procedure was done on PM Oli, who had a kidney transplant 12 years ago, to remove antibodies for immunosuppression.
PM Oli had left for Singapore on August 22 just 10 days after a nine-day stay at the hospital there.
