President Bidya Devi Bhandari will visit Japan on Sunday on the invitation of the Japanese government.
She will leave for the three-day formal visit from Myanmar where she currently is on invitation of her counterpart Win Myint, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated issuing a press statement on Friday.
She will attend the enthronement ceremony of Japanese Emperor Naruhito scheduled to be held on October 22. She will also attend the court banquet to be hosted by the emperor after the ceremony.
She will hold meetings with the Indian President Ram Nath Kovind and the Japanese Prime Minister (PM) Shinzo Abe while in Japan.
President Bhandari will be accompanied by Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa and high ranking officials of the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
