The government has announced itinerary of the two-day state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Xi will land at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at 4:30 Saturday afternoon. The TIA office has already said the airport will be shut down for 2:30 hours from 2:55 in the afternoon till 5:25 for commercial flights.
Xi will meet President Bidya Devi Bhandari at 6:30 in the evening.
He will meet Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba at 7:15, according to NC leader Prakash Sharan Mahat.
A dinner will be hosted at Soaltee Hotel after 7:30 in the night.
Xi will meet CPN Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at 10:30 Sunday morning.
He will meet Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli at 11:30. He is scheduled to fly back to China at one in the afternoon.
The TIA will again be closed for commercial flights from 11:20-1:50 on Sunday.
The TIA office has said the airport will be in operation round the clock to lessen the impact of the shutdown.
