The government has announced public holiday for the second day of the two-day state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday.
The Cabinet meeting on Thursday announced public holiday for Sunday as per the proposal of the Home Ministry.
The government has announced public holiday to manage movement of Xi's motorcade in Kathmandu and also to spare commoners the consequent gridlock.
Xi is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu at four Saturday afternoon.
Nepal will focus on the issue of connectivity during the two-day visit with Kimanthanka-Korala road, Kerung-Kathmandu road and upgradation of the Arniko Highway set to be discussed during the bilateral talks.
Nepal is likely to discuss the issue of railway with the Chinese delegation but has not prioritized the issue for now.
Xi will arrive in Kathmandu on invitation of President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Saturday and return the next day. He is scheduled to meet President Bhandari who will host a banquet in honor of Xi and the Chinese delegation.
He will also hold official talks with PM Oli. Senior political leaders will also meet Xi who will arrive in Nepal after completing his India visit.
