Krishna Bahadur Mahara, who resigned as speaker following rape allegations, on Thursday has returned one of the three government vehicles he uses.
The vehicle with a flag provided by the federal parliament has been returned, according to Under Secretary at the secretariat Kanchha Dulal. "The Home Ministry had asked about the vehicles immediately after Mahara's resignation," Dulal said.
The secretariat had given one vehicle to Mahara. His secretariat was using another vehicle while the Home Ministry had given a black vehicle for use during formal programs. "We have been informed that the two vehicles will be returned tomorrow," Dulal added.
Mahara has been accused of raping Roshni Shahi who works at the federal parliament secretariat on Sunday.
Shahi initially claimed an inebriated Mahara reached her rented apartment in Tinkune with a bottle of whiskey when there was no one else in the apartment Sunday night and raped her.
She, however, changed her statement later Tuesday stating that Mahara did not rape her and just misbehaved.
