Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is arriving on Sunday.
Wang, who will arrive on a chartered flight at around 4:30 in the afternoon, is expected to remain in Kathmandu till Tuesday afternoon. A foreign Ministry source said Wang will start political meetings only from Monday.
He is scheduled to meet President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli, CPN Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba among others during his stay in Nepal.
Nepal and China will also hold bilateral meeting on Monday, and a few agreements and memorandum of understanding may be signed during the meeting. Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali said the two countries will discuss about ways to take economic and development partnership forward. He added that discussions will also be held on Nepal visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Wang will fly to Kathmandu after taking part in a tripartite meeting including Pakistan and Afghanistan in Pakistan.
