CPN Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal will chair the first secretariat meeting of the party on Monday 15 months after becoming co-chairman of the party.
The party's last secretariat meeting held at the prime minister's (PM) official residence in Baluwatar on Thursday had decided that Dahal can run the party and complete the remaining works of unification in absence of PM and another chairman KP Sharma Oli paving the way for him to chair the party's meetings.
CPN Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha tweeted that the secretariat meeting will be held at the party's central office in Dhumbarahi Monday afternoon to discuss remaining works of organizational unification and other issues.
The secretariat meetings were earlier held only in presence of the two chairmen who would co-chair the meetings. The Thursday's meeting decided that Dahal alone can convene and chair secretariat meetings.
The party has yet to finalize overseas committee, chairpersons and secretaries of six metropolitan cities, and complete division of labor among the remaining central members.
Oli left for Singapore on Thursday for followup and is expected to remain there for some days.
