The secretariat meeting of ruling CPN called for Tuesday afternoon has been postponed for Wednesday citing lack of preparations
The meeting was postponed after all the secretariat members reached the prime minister's official residence in Baluwatar.
"The meeting has been postponed after Chairman Oli and general secretary pointed at lack of preparations," CPN Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha said. "It will now be convened at 11 Wednesday morning."
Senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, Shrestha and Bam Dev Gautam left Baluwatar after the meeting was postponed but Chairman duo KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal continued discussions with other secretariat members.
The party was set to decide on leadership of different commissions in the meeting.
Senior leader Nepal, who felt humiliated by the decisions of secretariat meeting of Sunday, had planned to register note of dissent in Tuesday’s meeting.
The secretariat meeting Sunday evening had made senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal the third-ranked leader leapfrogging Nepal.
Nepal had commented that he felt humiliated after Chairman Oli read the decision to the secretariat meeting. He also expressed displeasure with the decision to appoint chiefs and deputy chiefs of the party’s sister organizations.
