The majority of CPN standing committee members have claimed for leadership of the party departments.
General Secretary Bishnu Paudel has been talking with central and standing committee members about their wish for party responsibilities.
The party with 441 central members has yet to hand over responsibilities to 169 leaders including the two chairmen and general secretary. "I have completed asking about wish and competence of the majority of comrades," Paudel told Setopati. "The report will be completed within a few days."
He revealed that standing committee members have claimed for even the important departments that have been allocated for secretariat members stating that secretariat members should not be burdened with departments.
Standing committee member Bedu Ram Bhusal said he told general secretary Paudel that the statutory provision of just one responsibility for a person should be complied with. "I have been publicly claiming for the school department," he added. "Secretariat members should not fight over departments to stop decision-making."
Another standing committee member Devendra Paudel said he told Paudel that he would be happy with any department with networks across the country with preference for school, organization, student or cooperative departments.
The secretariat meeting on July 29 had asked general secretary Paudel to talk with central leaders about their wish and prepare a report. The report will be presented to the next secretariat meeting called for August 13.
