Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN has relieved the arrested leaders of their responsibilities.
The party's standing committee meeting held in the third week of July has relieved headquarter member Hemanta Prakash Oli, who is currently at the Nakkhu Jail, and other leaders of their responsibilities, according to the party.
The meeting dissolved the five-strong standing committee and converted it to four-member headquarter including General Secretary Chand, Khadka Bahadur Bishwokarma, Santosh Buda Magar and Dharmendra Bastola.
"The meeting decided to keep Hemanta Prakash Oli who was member of the high command out of the headquarter as he is currently in jail. He will be given responsibility depending on the situation if he returns well," a leader confided with Setopati.
The meeting has also removed 17 central members including the arrested ones, ill ones and those accused of double-crossing in the name of dialogue.
Maila Lam, who is currently in the Nakkhu Jail, Bijay Shrestha and Bandhu Chand have been relieved of their responsibilities. Party sources claimed that Chuda Mani Oli, who has been released after arrest, and Chandra Bahadur Khadka have also been removed.
The meeting has also removed politburo members Mohan Karki and Bharat Bam, who were reportedly taking initiative for dialogue with the government, in a way that they do not remain even central members.
The party has stated that a few central members have also been removed for poor performance. The party will not have politburo, and it will only have 35 central members. It previously had 51 central members.
The meeting also changed incharge of its central commands. Santosh Buda Magar will now head the eastern command, Bishowkarma central, Chandra Bahadur Chand mid-western and Bastola western.
It has also formed 12 bureaus and changed chiefs under the bureaus.
The meeting also concluded that there is no chance of dialogue with the government in the current situation and decided to bring programs for stringent struggle.
