Cabinet ministers have started briefing Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli about annual plans of their respective ministries.
The ministries have prepared plans for the fiscal year 2076/77 on the basis of the budget and the government's policies and programs. The ministers have started to brief PM Oli about those plans at the latter's office in Singha Durbar at 10 Wednesday morning.
PM Oli had convened a meeting in the second week of July to review performance of the ministries following complaints about sluggish government works. He had instructed the ministers to inject pace into their works and bring plans for the new fiscal year in the next meeting.
The plans will be presented in today's meeting and the ministries will have to submit progress report of the plans to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers periodically. "The government believes that there will be no delay in works after this," Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information technology Gokul Prasad Baskota said.
This is the first time that plans prepared by the ministries on the basis of their respective priorities have been presented to the PM.
