The ruling CPN is struggling to decide who should get to lead the school department of the party.
The secretariat meeting called for Thursday to decide about leadership of all the departments has been postponed as the two chairmen failed to agree on the school department.
The secretariat meeting called for July 21 was postponed for today after the leaders failed to agree on leadership of the party's 33 departments. Chairmen KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal have been holding meetings stalling the secretariat meeting to decide about leadership of departments after that but to no avail.
Oli is adamant that secretariat member Ishwore Pokharel should lead the school department while Dahal insists that another secretariat member Narayan Kaji Shrestha should get the department.
"The chairmen would rather keep the department with themselves but are not ready to budge from their respective stance for Pokharel and Shrestha," a secretariat member told Setopati.
Oli insists on Pokharel heading the department but former Maoist leaders vehemently oppose that saying a person who has been lobbying to make people's multiparty democracy the united party's guiding principle should not be made chief of the school department.
