The House of Representatives (HoR) meeting will be held Wednesday afternoon after Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara and the ruling CPN agreed to discuss the urgent motion of public importance registered by Nepali Congress (NC).
The main opposition party earlier had been obstructing the House due to two incidents in Sarlahi. It had then registered the urgent motion of public importance on July 15 demanding all the issues be removed from the House's schedule and the devastation caused by floods and landslides be discussed.
The House was abruptly adjourned that day after the ruling CPN insisted that Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa be allowed to speak about the natural disaster before discussion on the motion.
A lawmaker told Setopati that a new urgent motion of public importance will be registered by NC on Wednesday and discussion will be held on that.
CPN lawmakers, on other hand, are demanding guarantee from NC to end House obstruction after discussion on the urgent motion of public importance.
