Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has said Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN has not made any formal proposal for dialogue until now.
"We have been urging them to come for dialogue but the Chand group has not made any formal proposal for dialogue," Minister Thapa said addressing a press conference organized to brief about the annual performance in the last fiscal year and future roadmap of the ministry on Monday.
He added that efforts to bring the Chand group into political mainstream are on but they have also yet to decide to sit for dialogue.
He conceded that the Chand group poses a challenge to political stability and democracy but claimed that security arrangements are stronger and better now than in the past. "But we are not satisfied with just that," he stated.
He revealed that the government has arrested over 600 cadres of the Chand-led CPN after banning activities of the party on March 14.
