Federal ministers and lawmakers including former prime minister (PM) Madhav Kumar Nepal have gone for inspection of the flood-affected plains.
Former PM Nepal, Deputy PM and Health Minister Upendra Yadav, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Energy and Water Resource Minister Barsha Man Pun, Transport Minister Raghubir Mahaseth, Minister of State for Agriculture Ram Kumari Chaudhary, Chairman of the Development Committee of parliament Kalyani Khadka and lawmaker from Rautahat Prabhu Sah reached Rautahat on a Nepal Army chopper on Wednesday.
The team will also visit seven other districts in Province 2 after taking stock of the plight of flood victims in Rautahat, according to Kiran Bhattarai, press coordinator of Minister Thapa.
Province 2 has suffered a huge loss due to floods following incessant rainfall that started last Thursday.
The death toll of floods and landslides across the country, meanwhile, has reached 78.
