Gunfight between police and Chand cadres in Sankhuwasabha

Cadres of Netra Bikram Chand led CPN and police had a gunfight at Heyangla of Silichong rural municipality 1 in Sankhuwasabha. Chief District Officer (CDO) Jeevan Prasad Dulal said a police team from the District Police Office on patrol and CPN cadres exchanged fire Monday morning. The place is one-day trek from district headquarters Khandbari. CDO Adhikari said the place is out of network coverage and details have yet to arrive. "We have not received reports of casualties on either side," he added. The police team had gone on patrol after reports about rise in activities of the Chand-led party there. There were almost 25 CPN cadres and they opened fire on seeing the police team, according to Dulal.
