There was some tension in Sunday's meeting of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the parliament after Federal Affairs and General Administration Secretary Yadav Koirala commented that the lawmakers did not understand correctly.
The situation become tense after CPN lawmaker Janardan Sharma took exception when secretary Koirala stated that the lawmakers took the things his minister Lal Babu Pandit said wrongly.
"He says we have interpreted it wrongly. He does not have that right. He is the one who said blood relation when we said let's do it through the Public Service Commission. We are remaining silent. We have again not interpreted wrongly. Do not stop. He cannot say this," Sharma fumed.
Chairman of the committee Shashi Shrestha ruled and drew secretary's attention to enter the sixth point leaving the fifth after Sharma objected.
Lawmakers including Sharma and secretary Koirala had a verbal exchange after the latter stated that the lawmakers interpreted the views of minister Pandit on conditions for formation, operation and service of civil service wrongly and tried to clarify.
Secretary Koirala had returned to the fifth point after the committee had started discussion on the sixth following dispute in the fifth.
